Somethin’ To Rap About: Controlling Minds in the Battlefield

The National Research Council and the Defense Intelligence Agency are looking to advance research in Neuroscience related military operations. The essential goals are to increase the psychological and physiological functions of our guys and make the enemy dumber. They would even like to go as far as degrade the enemies overall performance, scan peoples’ minds (so they know who is the enemy) and even controlling their minds.

This all was in a recent release from the NRC that was commissioned by the Defense Intelligence Agency discretely titled “Emerging Cognitive Neuroscience and Related Technologies.” Here is a quote from the report:

“So one question would be, ‘How can we disrupt the enemy’s motivation to fight?’ Other questions raised by controlling the mind: ‘How can we make people trust us more?’ ‘What if we could help the brain to remove fear or pain?’ ‘Is there a way to make the enemy obey our commands?’…As cognitive neuroscience and related technologies become more pervasive, using technology for nefarious purposes becomes easier.”

I hope to God that there is some international, independent oversight in this research.

Long live Hip Hop

Somethin’ To Rap About: Obamacans

I thought this was interesting. Some Republicans have been quietly pledging their support to Obama but recently a couple of big name Republicans have publicly supported Obama.

Somethin’ To Rap About: Stubborn Politics

This an episode of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The interview is the part that I want to point out. Ben Wattenberg, author of “Fighting Words,” to me represents some of the people who can’t admit to being wrong (or they intentionally made the mistake).

What do you think? Leave a comment.

Somethin’ to Rap About: What not to do

I am all about Hip Hop that gets political but Ludacris’s rhyme in the recent song Obama is here, is how not to do it. When the person you are speaking up for releases this statement:

“This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

You did it wrong.

“Hillary hated on you/So that b**ch is irrelevant.”
“McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed/ Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped/ Ball up all of his speeches and I throw ‘em like candy wrap.”

Are just some of the lines he dropped.

Ludacris gave the opposition party fuel to attack Obama with. Not good.

Somethin’ to Rap about: Darfur War Criminal

This is an interview with a Sudanese officer who is testifying to the war crimes committed in Darfur by his government. It’s a small piece of information about such a large and dreadful tragedy. I am not familiar with this news organization but this was an interesting interview. There will be more about the Darfur crisis to come because this is definitely something to rap about. Post your comments.
